Having spent a fair amount of time on this forum and other onine resources, here is my list for most VFM 32" buys. Using Flipkart links since it gives a good estimate of discounted retail prices:

VFM for budget needs: Philips 32 Inches Full HD LED 32PFL5556: I know Philips is not a coveted name in these forums, however the new models are true 2011 releases made in China by the manufacturers of AOC. One thing about Chinese manufacturers-great specs at lower than Korean prices. Full HD, 240hz motion control, high contrast, all yours at a net 31k price point.

VFM for regular users: Samsung 32 Inches Full HD LED UA32D5000PRMXL: This Sammy has a great feature list full HD, Hyper real engine, ultra clear panel etc. for net 38k.

VFM for best in class: Not a Sony. The Bravia series is overpriced on a feature to feature comparison. I would tie this between Samsung 32 Inches Full HD 3D LED UA32D6000SR and LG's latest Cinema 3D offering, both of which can come in about 48k.

My own case? I need to decide between the Samsung 5000 and 6000 series. I have no real use for 3D or web surfing on a compromised interface. However budget is not a concern for the best 32" screen on PQ out there. Do forum members see any other compelling reason to put in approx 10k extra- is there any perceptible difference in PQ?

Demo'd the LG 32LW4500 today and this TV goes top of my list for following reasons:

Passive 3D is better for the casual viewer
IPS panel lasts longer and comes with a sturdy front and provides better viewing angles
Good discounted price point
Minus: No Smart TV functions, works in my case since I plan to network a HTPC in any case.

Doesn't look like I can edit the poll, but it would be great to hear opinions of forum members: Is LG really worth going over Sony, Samsung when budget is not a constraint?

Taking the plunge tomorrow!
