NAS video files issues- Disappearing or not Visible in NFS

Just opened an new thread on intention of keeping sam HTPC thread clean.

Quick and short.

Using 8TB Western Digital NAS for streaming music/movies and storing photos.

Suddenly I could not see some Video files are not visible while logging in NFS mode from my Popcorn hour & Network share mode fro Xtreamer. Also the files are also not visible while trying to access thru my network places thru my Laptop or PC which is XP based.

Funnily, all the files can be viewed in UpnP more in xtreamer and in PC thru media player such as Twonky and video can be played..

So files are not lost in NAS, but not visible thru network shares....

Putting exactly the spec as mentioned below in the link. I never changed anything or added any software to it and the sharespace is accessed by windows xp based PC and connected with Linkys Router WRT 320N + Linksys WRT 54G(this i will change it occasionally, since the router get heated and gets hanged/freezed-some issues). Thru Router connected the Popcorn hour + xtreamer (wired). Access by pc will be wireless....

Any suggestion to overcome this is welcome.

When you say "NFS" do you really mean NFS, as in the specific file sharing protocol originally developed by Sun?

If so, is this any help?

I was just wondering what protocols these boxes support and doing a bit of idle browsing

I am browsing like this and no issued so far.

Popcorn hour - Click Network browser - showing NFS Server- Will show IP address of Router - click it, will go into shared folders in NAS(public/download )

So long it is working and still it is.. but only few video files are not showing up

Accepted protocols these are : UPnP for Web Access & FTP / FTP/ NFS / AFP

Interesting, it is usually the other way around....my DLNA servers miss files that I can view through SMB. If your setup supports SMB, perhaps try that? User permissions may be another thing to check on.
