Hello,

My budget is around 45-55K, can above that only if its really needed to ~60K.

I'm looking for something to go with my 55" new LED/Plasma (Samsung D8000 probably). I need something which wont be just for movies but for loud music also if needed as this is being put in a dining room.

My audio guy who works for onkyo, suggest me to go for onkto hts5400 7.1 HTIB costing around Rs 53K whereas some other folks are suggesting me to go onkyo amp but polk audio or other speaker set.

I'm not interested in floorstanding speakers, Bookshelves / wall mounted would be my thing.

Inputs given to the amp would be.
1. Sky HD+
2. something like xtreamer
3. PS3 or anything like that
4. Laptop also via hdmi whenver needed for music.
5. might go for google tv also

Please advise something under my budget.

Thanks a ton ! :)

Hi, onkyo HTS series are very good............only if you are on a tight budget. Since your budget is decent, you should go for a good receiver + bookshelf speakers. I suggest Denon/Marantz receiver. For BS you can demo wharfedale, polk audio, mordaunt short, tannoy........they all are good. And remember to have a good demo, listen to various soundtracks and always only trust your ears!!!

Check Qacoustics 2010,2020 at paradigm traders@barakhambha road but you would need an AVR to drive them.

Still confused. I really dont have that much info about these things coz Ive always bought a HTIB package.

Can you guys tell me what 7.1 speakers and avr receiver can come into my budget. (exact models)

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
