Need advice to buy 5.1 AVR.

Hi All,

I have Philips HTS 6543 5.1 Setup. Its amplifier is not working now and its not repairable. Looking for replacement Amplifier. It provides 1000W output with 4 ohm speakers(166W * 6 Channel). I would like to use the same set of speakers.

Could you please suggest any alternate options to use the existing speakers?

Impedance matching a big challenge......all also depends on your budget....the basic AVR from Yamaha / Pioneer will cost 23 to 25k......pre owned ones are available over OLX for 15k onwards...depends on models , brands and features....

YOu can possibly look for an alternate Philips 5.1 setup over olx......lots being sold....including sony types....before buying....go online, download the manual and see if the existing speakers will match...then audition, negotiate and purchase....

Another alternative is local made amps / avrs .....these don't offer true surround (DTS / Dolby).....Panda Audio / DNM Audio
