Need help for HTIB @ approx 20k

My uncle needs to buy an HTIB. He has a samsung 50" 3D plasma.
The listening distance is max 8 feet. The budget is about 20K. More movies and a bit of music, so I suggested 5.1. Also because he is not an audiophile.
He was looking for the sonys and samsungs, and I strictly advised him to stay away from these.
I was looking at Logitech Z906, about 23ks. Its THX certified, and decodes DTS audio.
Do you guys have a better suggestion? Like the HTIBs from Onkyo, Yamaha or JBL. Can I find any at this price range?

I think 20k is a bit low budget. Although if you can raise your bars a bit high, you could opt for Onkyo HT-S3700. Its quoted for around 30k to 33k. You might get it squeezed down to 27k for a good bargain.

You can go and negotiate the price.

If the budget can be stretched a bit, you could also look at Yamaha / Pioneer / Denon entry level Home Theatre systems which can be auditioned before finalising......carry your kind of music to decide ....all the best

I would also recommend an Onkyo, but seeing your uncle is not an audiophile or even a videophile you can also consider a sound bar or even the Logitech as long as it's only for extending the TV speakers and not watching Blu-ray discs or high definition content.

If u want to cap the price range 20k , u can go for Philips HTB-5510/94D.
Pretty good sound , comes with usb / bluetooth /wifi /3D Bluray playback.
1000 w rms. Decent output and great features at a price range of 21k.
