I wanted TV with screen size >= 46 inch..narrowed it down to following with budget not more than 75k..... here are my choices(only FHD)

Sammy
LED
UA46EH6030R
UA46EH5000R
Plasma
PS51E550D1R

LG
Plasma
50PA6500
LED
47LS5700

Panny
Plasma
TH-P50UT50D
LED
TH-L47E5D
TH-L50EM5D

Toshiba
LED
46PX200
46TL20
46VL20

I visited many stores and felt that though plasma give natural colour..a backlit LED though gives artificial color..the display was superb and my eyes liked it better :-) ..like watching a high qual serial :-) ... after various discussions with store managers

Sammy - UA46EH6030R - 70k
Sammy - PS51E550D1R - 75k
LG - 50PA6500 - 65k

E550's 51 inch size is luring me....but 6030's color and brightness was superb...... need ur valuable inputs...

I would skip Lg for plasma............better to go with Panasonic/Samsung for Plasma. PS51E550D1R and UT50 both are excellent tv's.

Both UA46EH6030R (LED) and Sammy - PS51E550D1R (Plasma) are good sets. Generally, LEDs perform better in bright rooms and that is why you felt that LED was offering a better PQ in your eyes. Here are my inputs to help you choose what works best for you. Again, don't get biased either by my inputs or by others suggestions and you are the final one to decide on which looks good for you.

- If you generally watch TV in a bright lit room, please go for Sammy LED. All the Plasma TVs suffer in brighter rooms. LED is brighter than Plasma and consume 1/3rd of the power when compared with a Plasma. Again, it doesn't man that Plasmas are too darker. It is only by comparison with LED that you would see Plasmas being slightly darker.
- If going for for an LED TV, we need not worry about any issue related to Image retention.
- If you are videophile obsessed with picture quality and likes to watch movies in darker rooms, plasma would be good. In case if you decide on Plasma, you can even go for Pana 50UT50 and that has won very good reviews.
- Plasma offers more color depth and so more natural colours compared to LED. Also Plasma offers the best contrast ratio, deeper black levels.
- As mentioned above, Plasma offer the most uncompromising picture quality. At the cost of an excellent and uncompromising picture quality offered by Plasmas, we need to be careful with the usage of Plasmas to avoid Image retention. Though most of the new Plasmas claim that IR is no more an issue, still we need to be careful.

Finally, you should go with what you feel the best for you. I can tell you that whatever you choose (either LED or Plasma), you will definetly have the best for you and won't regret.

thanks....my room is a bit bright...but can cover with drapes.... but as u said plasma give natual color..for eg LED VS PLASMA : SAMSUNG 8000 SERIES VS PANASONIC GT30 - YouTube ... LED though artificial colour..it is very pleasing for the eye... for eg in the above video...the blacks looks amazing in plasma...but red appears bit washed out(though plasma may give off natural color)...... this is my concern... sometimes a bit artificial looks better than the actual :-) ... any thoughts?

I agree with you Krsihneo. It all depends up on the individual. As you feel, there are others as well who also echo the same as yours. So if your heart says Samsung LED, then go for it.

At the same time, I would like to add a word of caution with respect to the show room TV settings. Most of the show room TV settings does not reflect the right actual or real world picture settings which you would employ in your TV room. So just watch for that and you can ask the showroom dealer to adjust the picture settings as per your wish and judge things. Other wise, I would say your choice of going for LED is excellent.

Agree with above. Trust your instincts and what appeals to your heart. If LED is what you like, go with it. If you like plasma, go with that.

The 6030R actual price is 96k..and not able to find a good review of it...guess it must be a Europe and india only model.....from 96 dealers throughout chennai are coming down to 70k...whereas other models..it is in range of 5 to 6k..this gap is huge....any owners of the model here?
