Dear Friends,

I am planning to buy Samsung UA40C5000 for Rs.68,000. I need your expertise opinions about this model:

1. Is it worth buying this model for mentioned price?

2. Any issue with this model? Performance issue or any type?

3. Does this model have SPVA "SQ01" Panel?

4. This has no Motion Plus (Only 60Hz). Will this affect TV viewing in any manner?

5. How about audio sound of this model? Is it audible enough to watch?

Friends, kindly provide me your suggestions. I am planning to buy this weekend.

Regards,

Vas

See if you can source it from Dubai. My friend got it in scheme for ~50K with free blu ray c5000 during DSF. Its not yet opened piece since it will be used after house renovation is done. So can not comment on performance.

1. 68K looks too much I think. The MRP is Rs.71,900/-. I was offered this TV around 61K in Guntur(AP). As I wanted to restrict my budget under 40K, I have gone for 32LCD for 38K.

4. I suggest you to go for an audition to see the difference between 100Hz and 60Hz.
The motion speed with 60Hz looks as simple as a laptop screen speed. This doesn't affect TV viewing but when you play Games and some action movies, 100Hz help you to make it a good experience.

5. Audio is dolby sound which is a good one. TV sound is audible enough to ears.

For your other questions, fellow members will help you.

I have bought this TV for 42K (grey from gaffar market, delhi; jan 2011 mfg; made in thailand) on 13.02.1011 and its working perfectly -
1. Your price is too costly; I have seen prices of around 60-62k with bill in delhi
2. No performance issues seen till now; zero lag seen; full hd content is beautiful; blacks are blacks; sd content is also displayed good, though not as good as my sony crt; Its a fantastic led tv; would recommend it blindfolded to anyone; just get the best price;
3. For panels see this -Panel Switching in Samsung TVs: What We Know So Far seems a mva cn01 panel;
4. They claim some special tech to multiply 50hz x 3 = 150 hz motion flow; I see no problems seeing in hd
5. Sound quality is adequate for general viewing but for high def content I route audio through my yamaha avr and 6.1 system

Dear Friends,

Thanks for the inputs. I am going to try buying it from other sources as mentioned. Thanks again.

Cheers,

Hi,

I have the same LED TV and I'm satisfied with it's performance. I purchased it for Rs65k from authorised Samsung showrroom. I had extensively compared it with LCD TV but I really liked the B&W pictures in LED where in LCD there was a tinch of yellow.

I have taken it for 58k from "Next" in Bangalore. Got Dish TV HD box for free.
I would recommend LG 5300 over this model.
Samsung is better when showing the HD content. But with standard signals, LG was better. Also, viewing angles are much superior in LG.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
