Hi All,

I have purchased speakers and amplifier recently. Quad 11L2 and NAD amplifier. I am newbie in this field so don't have much knowledge about setting up this. I was listening to it by keeping it on floor. My brother gifted me DIY stands. It is 2 feet tall and made from iron. These are really heavy.

There is drastic improvement in sound. I need help with positioning and choosing best stands. The reason behind this is some songs sound great while others are completely flat. For example, Zubeidaa sounds excellent but Yuva is totally flat. There are many other albums, I feel same way. Either it is too good or really bad. I wanted to know whether there is any other factor apart from bad recording of CDs I have.
I was wondering which stands suit best for such speakers. Is it wooden or iron? Will it give same result if I keep it in TV unit?

What are other factors should I consider while placing it?
Right now, I have placed them 6 feet away from each other in room size of 14x10. Distance between speakers and wall is 2 feet. It brings speakers very close to me. I just want to see how far can it go further.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sandip

no reply yet. :(

I tried different positions mentioned in some articles on web. But still didn't have satisfactory results. BTW if someone has anything to share, please do post.
