Need Help-Philips Home Theatre

I recently brought philips 5.1 home theatre...here i noticed one problem i.e it has only Digital coaxial In(s/pdif) ....But my tv and set top box has optical out (s/pdif) ..then i tried one optical to coaxial converter ..but it is not working ...pls say some good solution or good converter for problem

Option 1: Change the dth to one with coaxial out.
Option 2: Sell the Philips HT and get something better like Onkyo 3500.
