Need Help: Plasma TV 42"

Hi

I would like to buy Plasma TV 42". Budget is 40-60k.

Please suggest me the best brand and good models.

Note: 3D is not essential. Looking for higher-end 2D TV.

You will get a whole lot of an option for 42 inch plasma in your preferred price range.

First of all choose whether you need Full HD or not? If you do not bother about Full HD you can go for Samsung and LG. The pictures are quite impressive at not so much high price tag.

For Full HD the surest bet is Panasonic..Their Plasma range is the largest in India and is arguably the best one.

You can find people in this forum talking about Panasonic Viera 42 ST50..

But before buying plasma you should know its merit and demerits also. Also since Plasma is a Old Technology there is no guarantee how long you will get support for your TV...But for next 4 to 5 years Plasma will surely be there no doubt.

Plasma, by itself, is a newer technology than LCD. But plasma panels made their debut in TV market earlier because LCD was very costly technology for large panels (it is still marginally costly) and LCD had input lag and slow response time (still has though much reduced) which was totally unacceptable for moving images at that time.

That said, we may see the demise of plasma manufacturing in a couple of years.

I think now V20 is discontinued. I have visited all the show rooms and even panasonic branded showroom. Now a days only XT series model available (TH-P42XT50D).

Even Panasonic branded show room guys are unable to confirm on selling of other series (UT, ST or GT).

I am literally confused with the hell is going on.

Is panasonic is going to release any new plasma series or models in 2013? Why they stopped production after Diwali of last year?

A very good budget for a 42 inch plasma.
After so many days I hear somebody who clearly voted for 2d PQ:clapping:
instead of the usual "passive 3d", "smart features", "value for money" etc etc...

You can try calling TMC banjara hills.They are supposed to be leading dealers of panasonic in AP.I got my st50 from there.

I had enquired a couple of weeks back at TMC Bhiills but guy wasn't too sure of getting the stock. But Adishwar on Road no.1, Banjara Hills was confident of delivering the Pana Plasma series.
