Hello,
I have been a regular reader of this forum and gained a lot so far, but when it comes to buying from one's own city dealers its a tough job.
I want to buy a 42" to 46" TV and have demoed sets of Panasonic, Samsung, LG and Sony. But have got more confused now. Not getting the features in one set as per my needs.
My requirements are for regular home viewing without 3D. Smart TV features are not a priority but okay if comes under my price range. Full HD is prefered.
Budget: 45K to 60K. Plasma and LED both are considered.

Please suggest models as per this.

I have just shifted from a 42" LCD to 53" plasma and my word plasma is much better option. due to three things

1: excellent blacks
2: zero motion blur
3: no silly 120hz refresh rates or motion engine that makes scenes look like they are in slow motion.

Suggest look for panasonic plasmas and make sure that the sales guy sets the contrast and brightness correctly Use one of the presets available (have noticed that they sometimes turn the brightness c olour and contrast down to make it look bad vis a vis LCD/ LEDs) anyways the showroom lighting is no way comparable to our living room lighting.

All the best for your purchase

:)

How is samsung Plasma when compared to pansonic, the low end samsung plasma is available at attractive price with no WIFI/smart options when compared with pansonic.

can anybody suggest good plasma with a price range of 35-45k for my parents.shall i wait till deepavali for good offers or new launches.suggest me in hyderabad where to buy.

As Power cuts have become more is it good to have a stabilizer for this new big gadgets?

I would say that go for the unsmart tv and add a smart media player .... That is your tv becoming a smart tv at much cheaper price. I added the apple tv to make my unsmart tv a smart one.

Anyways on the timing something you need to sort out

Well said Ashutosh............I'm glad you understand Plasma is more superior to LED/LCD.............takes a long time to explain to people. No doubt there are some good LED tv's too, but if you look at price vs performance, you cant beat a plasma!!!

your best option would be the panasonic 2012 plasma.......the 50 series, if not then go with the 2011, the 30 series. Suggest to demo any tv before you buy. When you want to demo a plasma please request the salesman to turn down the lights. Most showrooms are excessively over bright. Turn down the lights, play some HD content and then see how a plasma shines.

Plasma's are best, but the only problem with them is high power usage. My Panasonic ST50 eats 425watts of power. With such a high power usage i recommend plasma's for watching movies and gaming. IF you watch the plasma for daily 9-10hrs of serials watching then electricity bill will be on the higher side. That's why they are rated in C class for electricity efficiency.

Samsung latest model is quite good they take around 180w of power for 51inch model.
