Need help with 3d HTPC

I currently Have:

1.Sharp aQUOS 60" LED 3D TV (With Shutter Glasses)
2.3d Ready Yamaha A/V Component
3.HTPC: Blu Ray Drive
Raedeon HD 3870 X2
4 Gigs DDR3 Memory
Intel Cor 4 Processor 3.3Gigs
Asrock 775 LGA Mainborad

Now What I need is to upgrade my HTPC to be able to play 3d blu-ray disc and 3d Blu-ray ripps of my movies.
I rather spend money on my HTPC than purchase a 3D stand alone Blu-Ray player.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
 
You will need
1. a graphic card with hdmi 1.4 support
2. Software player which supports 3d blu-ray playback
3. may be some 3d driver software too.
 
The GeForce GT 240 is one of only three GPUs that officially support Blu-ray 3D (the other two being the GTX 470 and GTX 480). The Zotac GT 240 has the distinction of also being fanless, which makes it perfect for our 3D HTPC. You should note that we are running the Zotac card in an x8 PCI-E 2.0 slot, as the passive heatsinks for the CPU and GPU could not coexist. I will first consid Dremelling off a chunk of the Zotac but settled on running it in the second slot. Because x8 PCI-E 2.0 is the equivalent of x16 PCI-E 1.0and because we are unlikely to ever run out of bandwidth, the second slot made more sense.


add a good sound card and you are good..

look for 3d capable video and a good sound card like asus xonar..


also mention your budget buddy...
 
however the amount of expense you will make to make your HTPC 3D might go above the price of stand alone 3d bluray player..

also you might render your dual cross fire and current sound card if any render useless unless u aint selling them.. coz you might get 3d blu ray players ranging from as low as 100$ to 400$ depends..


so think and decide and go ahead with the plan..
 
I dont want the stand alone blu-ray because I would like the ability to have blu-ray file playback.
