Hi Friends,

Recently i bought a new pair of logitech z623. i need help with a small issue that i have noticed today.

Suppose the power button on the right speaker is turned on and the power button on the wall socket to which the speakers are connected is turned off. Now if i turn on the power button on the wall socket, the LED light on the right speaker comes on but is a bit dimmed as if the speakers are in some sort of power saving mode. But, the moment i play some sound from my laptop, the LED goes bright and the speakers start playing the sound normally. I want to know if this is a normal behavior of the system or if my system is developing some sort of fault.

On the other hand if both the power button on the speaker and wall socket are turned off, then if i turn the wall socket on first and then the power button on the speaker, the LED works normally.

Also, on some other forum someone has mentioned that the LED goes dim if the speakers are left idle for more than 2 hours. I haven't tested this myself so don't have any idea about it.

Please help..........

It seems like either nobody has a set of Z623 or my post isn't clear at all. Anyways, if you have a Z623 please do the following and let me know the outcome.

Having speakers plugged into the wall socket or power strip and connected to a sound card, keep wall socket button in off position and right speaker power button in on position. Now, when you turn on the wall socket button please see if the LED light on the right speaker comes on bright as it normally does or if it is a bit dim. If it is a bit dim, play some sound from your computer and see if the LED light becomes automatically bright and the speakers start playing the sound normally.

This is what i am seeing happening with my speakers. If your speakers behave the same way, i can be assured that my speakers are not developing a fault.

I have those speakers for about 6 months and I have noticed a strange behavior.

The speakers always enter a low power state (the led becomes dimmed and sometimes I hear a slight discharge) when no sound is provided from the sound card for long time (I haven't measure it yet but I think it is about 60-90 minutes). The speakers will immediately exit the power save mode when a sound is played . If I leave the speakers on without sound for too long they will turn off automatically despite the fact that the power button is pressed, and when this happens a brief low frequency power discharge is heard from the sub-woofer. At this state they cannot turn on if a sound signal is provided, I need to press the power button to mechanically turn them off and on again to activate.

I suppose that the speakers have a power save feature but it is not mentioned anywhere. Probably this power safe feature is confused when you power on or off the speakers from the mains.

It is a power-save feature but it twisted a bit. Technically when a speaker turns off a turn-off thump can be noticed that is what is happening when you say you notice a low output discharge. Then again it enters a shutdown mode which is irreversible and you have to turn of and on again for it to work, this is what is twisted, it it indeed a twisted/faulty thing, not saying the particular set is faulty, problem is with design i guess. But the dimmed led thing is absolutely normal. So enjoy the speakers no issue that you can solve normally though :D

Hi everyone this is a long story short.
I purchased logitech z623 on ebay for 7400/-. It is factory sealed piece. But when I connected to power socket no power supply. Got a replacement product yesterday. Connected it and no issues regarding power supply. But the huge disappointment is its sound.
Satilites are pretty loud and clear, but the problem is with bass. Bass is boomy mostly and tight with few songs but it pretty low sound.
Input device - computer.
Volume- 50%
Bass -50%(low bass sound)
-100% (ok sound but boooooomy)
1. Is there any problem or it is fine?
2. I can't hear the bass kick near subwoofer but in the middle of satilites. Why? If I put my ear near woofer I get humming and boomy sound. Is it normal?
