Hi,
I bought Pioneer vsx 323 today. I opted for self installation as I like to do things on my own. I also bought pioneer 5.1 channel speakers with this. now, I did setup as per the instructions. connected my system HDMI to AV HDMI IN and AV HDMI OUT to my sony lcd. when i started my setup, the AV screen started showing HDMI symbol in red blinking mode. I am very much frustrated.. Have reset it using standby and AV surround. Please if anyone knows what the problem is. please let me know..
Thanks

Relax buddy... Letz try one by one & close on the issue...Hope you have made the connection like his...

Plug in all HDMI devices to your AVR in port.... If your TV has HDMI ARC port connect that port to the HDMI Out of the AVR....

Thanks for the reply. One query i had regarding this. is the red H icon blinking occur when receiver is damaged? or it can occur for other reasons also? cause I was franatically checking online, i found one place where it said if red icon blinking is happening, to switch the device off immediately and call technician. that has raised my concerns quite a bit.

about the HDMI connections, I have a desktop whose HDMI out i connected to HDMI in of AVR, one sat box whose HDMI out also connected to HDMI in of AVR, BD HDMI i did not connect yet. now the HDMI out of AVR i have connected to my sony LCD HDMI in. it doesnt specify if ARC is present of not.. I will check it again. but suppose it doesnt support ARC, will the AVR show error?

Thanks

Honestly this is the first time i have come across this type of issue.....Try few things & if still doesn't work, you always have the option of technical & warranty support...

You did the right connection... Most Sony TV in the last 3- 4 yrs model have ARC written inside brackets like this..

Something like this HDMI1/2/3 (ARC)...

ARC has nothing to do with the error... BTW are you able to access the OSD display of the AVR?

Nope. that is what i am not getting.. even if we disconnect the TV HDMI, OSD doesnt show up. I tried reset using standby and advanced surround button, it shows main screen but then again the H icon starts blinking and rest goes away.. this is even when i did not even switch on the device.. the moment power is on, this starts blinking..

Ok this looks like an issue with AVR.. May be the OSD software is corrupted... Speak to the dealer & ask for a replacement of AVR since it is brand new...

Have you made the speaker connections correctly...(Hope you haven't swapped the + / - terminals for any speaker)

Yes audio connections are fine. I have previous experience from sony home theatre.. have contacted the customer care. they are sending someone to check the AVR. will update after that.. thanks for your time.

i have a vsx 323 myself..
the red led blinks when a particular input is chosen in the avr and there is no input..

check the input hdmi cable!
