Hello friends,
For the last two days I've run into this problem with my 1210 m5g. Suddenly i've Lost all bass and the sound has turned shrill on its own. No changes were made to any of the settings. I detected the problem with NAGAOKA 110 and replaced the stylus. Then I put the AT95 and the result was the same. The dark black backgrounds have become hissy. I run my turntable with an ENBEE ZX1 and ZX80 combination. I've dismounted the carts and mounted them again too. Is there something else I can do? Please guide me through this.
Thanks

I notice you have an Enbee pre power which I am assuming is quite old.. Could there be something wrong with the phono section or the amp in general? Have you tried playing something else through the amp to eliminate the possibility of the amp being a problem?

indeed, from your description, looks like 2 possibilities:

(1) There is a break in your cartridge to amp circuit (especially the earth wiring from the cart, not just the ground wire)

(2) The phonostage of your amp may be running into trouble (assuming all other sources sound fine on the same amp)

on another note, great looking equipment:

it may be possible that there is a loose contact at the collar also. Try continuity from both collar pins -> RCA output & Headshell wires -> RCA output

Problem solved. It has a switch foe MM and MC cart.though the switch was still on MM position, noticed that if the switch was moved even a fraction, I would go on MC mode. Got the switch fixed. Thank you all. Oh there is a question I would want to ask. Is there a minimum requirement for one to be able to buy from the hifi resales? Every time I try and do that, I am told that my account is not entitled.
Thank you
