Hi friends,
As you all know that our country was attacked recently..
first it was the clouds (hitting leh with flash floods) and more recently the Aedes mosquitoes (dengue/chikungunya)..
Chikungunya especially has been very common lately..
Many of my friends, including myself were really down in terms of health recently due this sudden invasion :)
So my focus has suddenly shifted from AV gear to health gear..
More juice, More life, More AV..

Coming to the exact reason of this thread.
I want apple juice to be the best possible in VFM..

Currently what I have are centrifeugal juicers from Sujata/Usha both of which are very fast, and throw the pulp out to the side/top, as soon as it touches the surface..which i dislike..lots of wastage of pulp..the taste of juice is also not that sweet, plus the foam in the juice is almost 75%, like for example 6-7 apples would give you a medium glassfull of juice..

I earlier had a very old juicer from Braun with a slower motor, which had sort of closed walls in which the pulp got stuck and every tiny bit of juice was sweeped out from the tiny little holes in the wall, and then it had a small outlet right at the bottom near the motor from where the juice flowed out..
That juice was really something, no foam, just clear juice and maybe a glassful just from 3-4 apples if i remember correctly..

So after googling a lot on the build/type I sort of gave up, when I came across this article..
Single-gear Juicers, Masticating Juicers, Juicer Review

So what I learned that Masticating juicers can produce much better juice than the centri ones, only problem being I cannot find a single brand in India for the same..The only ones that I find are local brands made in manufacturing companies..

Please help me find a good desi brand for masticating juicer, else maybe I will have to look for import options..

the title is definitely not boring..'masticating juicer' in fact sounds as colorful and juicy as it can get...
apart from getting educated in the nuances of blenders and juicers..i just realized that i would rather eat an apple a day..rather than put half of them in my 'centrifugal' juicer and get an unsatisfactory juice....
on the other hand i would suggest you to make orange juice...this fruit being more amenable to juicing...
by the way this time we have had a bountiful harvest and i can just watch from my window the mandarins 'bursting with seasons of mist and autumnal fruitfulness'...

haha, sometimes to get a laugh one might just have to step out of the 'Jokers Thread' !!!

'masticating juicer', Centrifugal forces at work, it's as juicy as it can get

Not to forget the traditional way of making juices from grapes but then, do we have enough bare footed members of the fairer sex around ?

One Of A Kind Juicer

I am having this juicer from Philips, it is too great.

It can remove apple juice without cutting the apple, means you can insert in juicer the full apple, i use it extensively for carrot and other fruits. I think there is no other juicer better then this in the market.

hehehe! - ssf - it is the dandruff that gives the wine it's unique flavor - and if the particular example of the fairer sex were to slip and fall while juicing the grapes - the wine would have a pronounced "seafood" bouquet!!

the experienced ngociants in the south of france may be able to tell which woman fell in!!!

:lol::lol:

in a chinese movie, Red Sorghum, that i had watched a long time ago on DD..the flavoring agent was your good old fashioned pee..i am not so sure if PM desai was around to endorse the efficacy of the effluent...

sure that our ex-PM morarji desai would have endorsed the 'efficacy" of his own 'pee' and would not even dream of sampling and endorsing the 'effluent' of those decadent (candidiasis-ridden) central china females.

I hope the 'OP' was not too serious in his quest for a Juicer. If he was, I apologise for going 'OT' (hehe@Suri :)). I cannot be of any help with regard to the juicers in question as all the juices that I consume come in bottles with appropriate amounts of spirits added. To negate the effects of the said juices had the previous day, I do have an Apple in the morning. :)

Sunil

well our members seem quite inclined towards the other juices..
still looking for answers on the original question..

btw what does 'OP' and 'OT' mean?

and i thought that -

OT = originator of thread

hehe, why do you think that I was going all hehe@suri in my earlier post ?

Although OT in forums commonly means Off Topic, if I have to ask my friend who was in the clergy for a short while before deciding that he could not live without women, he would probably say that OT means Old Testament.

So, if you say OT=Originator of Thread, then Originator of Thread it is :)

Again, apologies to OT for going OT. I still can't think up a masticating juicy solution. :o

Regards,

Sunil

Hope the OP has got what he wants. Now for some OT humour.

i suppose the title is very boring..

the title is definitely not boring..'masticating juicer' in fact sounds as colorful and juicy as it can get

Actually the title sounds obscene.:p

it is the dandruff that gives the wine it's unique flavor
:confused:Dandruff:eek:from where;)
what does 'OP' and 'OT' mean?
You will find all answers HERE

OP has an update.. maybe helpful for guys in similar pursuit..
Masticating route is indeed quite tough.. only import options in the motorized masticating category, for manual masticating the nearby juicewala gave me a demo of the apple juice which came out pulpy..so that option was out
so when i as just about to shop online from 20north/shopyourworld i thought of exploring the trade fair here in delhi..
I didn't find the masticating category anywhere, but found one of the centri juicers matching to the one i originally had.. the one which doesn't throw the pulp out (check the first post in the thread for more details..)
It is a food processor actually - F10/F11 from bajaj and fits perfectly for my requirements.. more so i sort of convinced my mom to use it for creating dough..
so that's that.. the pursuit for apple juice is complete..
thanks everyone for ur juice responses.. :ohyeah:

besides the obvious discourse on the physics of juice extraction where the debate , as i understand, is delicately (and deliciously) poised between the swiftness of the centrifugal blenders and the lazy but thorough beauty of the masticating machines..may i suggest a third option..kind of like the logic of the good source in audiophile terminology.."the blacker the berry the better the juice"...

Digging the past thread! Anyone got the masticating juicer? Any personal reviews?
I see one is offered by wonderchef in India.
