Need Suggestion to Control TV & Channels through Voice

@mods...Opening this new thread as i couldn't get any response from this thread. Request you to make changes as appropriate.


I am using Sonoff for sometime to control tube light, but now I am interested for automating TV Channels. I already have Google Home and Chromecast. My question is, how do I voice control TV & TV channels? Found few answers after googling, but would like to know your opinion on different combinations.

1) I will buy Smart Plug to connect TV (For switching TV On/Off through voice)

2) I will buy Broadlink mini RM 3 (To change channels through voice after configuring DTH and Onkyo receiver)

My budget to start is around 5K. Can I try out this combination? Will it work seamlessly? or any other thought?

you can use an IR blaster on your mobile to switch off and on TV. Below has the option for tata sky on the cheap. I got all the parts and but got stuck on the arduino piece..will try again post my kids exams

If it is for ease of switching channels, you can get Airtel's Android Dth receiver( internet tv as they call) as it has voice remote. No Idea if can be configured to work with echo or Google home devices.
