Hi,

I have an old Garrard record Changer lying around at home. My father and then me used to listen to it by hooking it up with my old mini system. But the interest died down with records being hard to get.

Now that the LP is making a comeback, I need to get this repaired. Get the changer repaired, and also a decent pair of connectors.

Anyone know of a reliable repair shop where I can get this done? A friend got his philips turntable repaired at a chandni chowk roadside shop, but now the speeds are all goofed up.

Can this thread be moved to Vintage Audio or Turntables, please? I need a reply badly, probably not getting one because it's in the wrong section.

Hello

You can check out at, - "Metro Music" at Metro gali .

Also there is a shop whcich sells cd , cassete at Chandi Chawk on Central Avenue- just beside the computer shop" thechnocrat". The name of that shop is "Kundu music " probably. You can ask them

Will let you know if there is any other option

Thanks

@Reuben...Wow! Wish i could do that myself! Will try to repost.

@ Pratim-da, Thanks a lot! Metro Music Hall is where I got it from. They seemed a bit reluctant and cited a high charge when i visited them.

You know me actually, by my real name.:) Will call you.

@pratimbayal :

I went back to Metro Music Hall today. Something had happened: they were very cooperative regarding repairs and charges thereof.

Will lug the TT to them next week.

Due to some personal circumstances, the 'next week' came only last week.

However, I found the repair not economically wise. So decided to trade in the Garrard and got myself a Philips AF 734. Sounded better than the Garrard did. I will miss the changer, but not very much.

Will go on a LP hunt tomorrow. Had given away most of my LP collection to good friends, excepting a few. The 78s are astill with me, but now they cannot be played until I get another player.

If everything goes well, I will move on to a better TT in the near future. But first, rebuilding the habit of LPs....
