Our new home is getting ready and i want to buy a home theater. I am a constant visitor to this forum but as a guest always. After visiting many of the posts i decided to open an account and did it. I appreciate this forum members for giving lot of help to newbies like me.

When i go through this forum, just found two home theaters in my parents as well as my budget. Onkyo 3500/3400, Denon 1312XP and these two awesome HTIB packages rock this forum with flood of positive reviews.

After constantly people suggesting Denon 1312XP for clear sound reproduction, i decided to go for this. But thinking of building a custom Home theater and i want your suggestions. I will upload my living room image to this post tomorrow.

My budget is 25000 to 31000 Rs only.

Note:-

Also considering JBL, Boston Acoustics, Harmon Kardon as i don't need special introductions to these company's reputation.

Price on junglee.com is not the final price. Also the AVR will be 110V. Which is the 5.1 pack for 12K?

Plzzzz at 30000 Rs price point and sound reproduction should be good for music playback and Movies.

Companies : Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, Harmon Kardon, Wharfedale, Manatza.

JBL SCS 200.5 Speaker package is available for 159 Euros with tax will get to 200 Euros. Can i combine this package with Denon 1312Xp Receiver which i can get for 23500 Rs.

Is this better to buy this or should i go with Denon 1312XP HTIB package for 31000 Rs.

Yamaha YHT-296
------------------
5.1 and price is 35000

Yamaha YHT-296 5.1ch Home theater

Denon 1312XP
--------------
5.1 sound and price is 31000

Onkyo 3400
------------
5.1 sound and price is 25000

or custom built

Yamaha RX-V571BL 7.1-Channel AV Receiver
7.1 sound and price is 18500
Junglee.com: Yamaha RX-V571BL 7.1-Channel AV Receiver

For 12000 rs i can get sub woofer and 5 speaker package.

Onkyo 3400 is an older model, check 3500 model - latest one for 26K
On the prices u have mentioned, u will easily get 10% disc

For 12k, there will hardly be any option for a decent 5.1 speaker package to match with ur avr

Audition and then decide

thanks guys but many people r preferring denon 1312xp than onkyo 3500 because these entry level models produce some distortion compared to denon. people are posited towards denon, what abt speakers and wofers that come with denon 1312

guys plz help me. called Bose for Acoustimass 6 Series III Home Entertainment Speaker System which r priced at 40000 approx wide delievery charges. going for Bose speaker system is good or they overhyped nd overpriced.

I should go for some good basic amplifier then like denon r Yamaha.

your suggestions r much appreciated

Hi, With all the auditioning that I ve done when I was in search of an AVR or Sound system to buy, I can say .. as per my Audioneubic sense of sound and as far as I ve seen in the forum, ramvalleru Please refrain from any Bose purchases.. they are just over hyped as you have felt. Even a low end AVR with some second hand speaker that you can get after a patient wait...at the same price would beat it hands down... an average avr.. like Yamaha Rx-V571 or a Denon 1912 would decimate the Bose Acoustamass III...

(As far as I ve experienced . am a Neub and this is what I ve felt after auditioning Bose and the others)

cmon guys...........please leave BOSE out of here. As rud3 has correctly said............anything would sound better than BOSE at a much lower price!!!

if not Bose should I go for denon 1312 r 1612 htib package

yup, Denon/Marantz/Yamaha/Onkyo/Pioneer.. which ever suits your budget and your requirement...

lols.. I know.. but..There was a time not long ago.. that I used to feel that Bose was atleast above average in performance...:o

I own a discontinued Denon HTIB (DHT 390) and can vouch for the quality of sound it produces. The music sounds sweeter and the movie experience blows you away. And we preferred it over Yamaha, at the same price point.

I would surely suggest a Denon.

marantz 1501 and 1401 receiver comes for 22000 and 25000 respectively then y go for denon which costs 23000.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
