Netbook: How to give it a SATA HDD driver for XP

As the thread name is, I am stuck with a non-booting Netbook with XP because the XP does not have the SATA HDD drivers and hence, the system cannot find the HDD while booting up.

The controller was changed to IDE,; the installer was able to put in complete install, but now while booting on its own, it cannot find SATA HDD.

Any ideas?

I think the XP is going out of support from Jan 1, 2014. Will it not be ok for you to move to another OS where you have support? Do check that.

Thanks for the reply sgmane. My laziness has kept this thread un-updated.

The update is that the system booted later on its own and it working fine as of now. Probably fiddling with the bios with IDE/ Sata settings helped.
