New AVR

Hi I just got my New Onkyo 809 from USA....Will be doing setup in a day or 2 as I need a step down transformer. In delhi I am getting 1.2 kv shielded Isolated step down transformer for 4000 Rs. I also got 14gauge speaker cable, mediabrige optical cable, mediabridge woofer cable and mediabridge 1.4hdmi cable too. The amp is rated 7.5 A which translates to 825 watts so is 1.2 kv step down is enough or should I go for 1.5. Thanks and cheers:yahoo:

how did you get it? did some one carry it for you or you got it through amazon/aramex/borderlinx etc? and of course the price (landed).

Go for a 1.5 KVA one it is better to buy a step down for twice the rated power

go for as high as you can. do you plan on getting more stuff in 120V? like active subs? Most subs are active subs that are plugged into raw power and have their own inbuilt amps. In that case, you may need more capacity. However, most subs have dual voltage, so you may not need a step down for them.

what speakers are you pairing it with? which part of delhi? maybe we can come over to your place once your setup is done.
