Hello, from a newbie to the world of audiophiles. I love music and my interests are mainly into folk, classic rock and easy listening. My current set up is a Wiim Pro Plus streamer which is connected to Edifier R1280DB active speakers. This is for my bedroom which is quite small, about 250 sq. feet. Planning to upgrade to a Yamaha R-N800A Network Receiver. Can the more experienced members guide me on what would be the ideal speakers for this receiver. Currently deciding between Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 or Q Acoustics 3020i. Later, I plan to add a turntable. I am staying in Bangalore.

Have you looked into monitor audio bronze silver and gold? Also bowers and Wilkins and Kef. They make good speakers. Whathifi.com has rankings. Great for balanced listening.

Yamaha is fine. Did you check out rega Brio amp available on hifimart at good price? Thats a fantastic amp. Yamaha does have more bells and whistles though.

If you are looking for a minimalistic setup aesthetics wise following would be good options
i) Marantz 7000N + Qacoustics 3030i / Concept 20 , Elac Debut 5.2 , Monitor Audio Bronze depending on your preferred signature and budget.

ii) KEF LSX 2 for a single all in one speaker

Why do you want to add a turntable to this setup ?

There are a number of audio retailers in you city. Pay them a visit and listen to all the options available.

Personally, I am not a fan of Wharfedale at the lower end of the price spectrum. For that money, your options open up to KEF which is way better.

Hello, from a newbie to the world of audiophiles. I love music ...
Yamaha Amps are musical, reliable and VFM products in long run. I am using age old (almost 20+ years) Yamaha AX396 integrated, acquired as pre-owned. I don't know how many hands it was crossed before landing at my home. AX396 is from Yamaha's basic and lower-end Hifi series. Still it is very strong and lovely sound. I have paired with Indiq Bookshelves, which is another VFM. Matching is very well. As per my understanding, Yamaha amps are very natural sounding and will easily pair with classical series speakers like JBLs, KEFs and Warfadels, and of course, you love to listen entire day.

If you have not owned Yamaha amps previously, you can visit my home (at Rajajinagar) and have a feel of Yamaha sound, paired with Indiq Speakers, before making any final decision. BTW, My music set up is in living room (centre hall), 16' x 11', without any acoustic treatment.
