Hi everybody,
I recently got from my moving neighbour an old but perfectly working and beautiful Technics AMP SU-V2, 40W RMS per channel 8 ohms.
I also found for sale a pair of Sony SS 176E Floorstanding Speakers, 90w.

My question is if that AMP has a too low output to make the speakers sound well. I do not play very high volumes, but I like to hear a full sound!

Thank!

Sony floor standers are usually high efficiency speakers and play well with most amps. I have heard various Sony floor standers with Technics amps and they all sounded good. However, I have never personally owned Technics amps. These were experienced at friend's homes. Technics and Sony were highly popular brands for hi-fi back in the day, in Kerala (sourced from the Middle East)

not too long ago i had a vintage Technics amp SU-Z2 paired with my 8ohms Sony spkrs SS-GRX8 . the 40wpc @ 8ohms amp had enough juice to drive them well to deliver stereophonic sound. So thats my experience as far as a technics-sony combo goes ;) ....i miss those beautiful needles on the VU meters!
