Hi everyone, Guru here. Mumbaikar based in Chennai for 2 yrs.
Have been a HPV member for sometime but this is my first post. Primarily no posts as nothing much to say.
Before joining I was the proud owner of Sonodyne Uranus system (20 yrs back), a Phillips 21 in colour tv (6 yrs old) and a Phillips Micro system (MCD 190)
All that is left of the Sonodyne is the amplifier (Burnt/Non working) :sad:and the speakers (working well till date):). The MCD 190 has just lost the clip which grabs the disc (dunno what the techs would call it):o. The CTV was left in Mumbai for my parents use.
Current Status:
Phillips LCD 32 inch 5609 (thanks to Hifivision, mainly Madbull Ram I think)
Received my Topping TP20-Mark II today ( thanks again to Hifivision, mainly psychotropic I am sure).
Am Total noob hence expect some queries in the relevant threads.

Is there anybody I can call up and take advice in Chennai? Somebody please PM me.

Bye for now.

hi and welcome. not really sure what you require - do you want to buy speakers? also whats your budget

I have a philips 3388 DVD player, a topping TP20 so all I need is proper cables and a pair of speakers as of now.
There are a few brands mentioned in the other threads on toppings . I will need to take a demo to decide. My budget for speakers is Rs 15 - 20,000. I am also open to a cd player (new or used) if needed urgently.

like you said you need to demo. pairing a system and also speakers to suit your listening habits and likes are very important. as for the cdp, remember your system is only as good or bad as your weakest link. a dvd player would do well enough. you'll have more bang for the buck if you put the money you were spending on the cdp into the speakers

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
