Hi,

My brother has purchased the Onkyo HTIB HTS-5400 yesterday. There are 4 HDMI ports (IN) and 1 HDMI port (OUT). The IN ports are labelled BD/DVD, VCR, SAT, and GAME. We tried to connect WD MEDIA PLAYER LIVE to one of the HDMI ports. While connecting we found out that the port no.1 which has BD/DVD written was not passing the signals to the LCD TV.The other HDMI cable was connected from HDMI (OUT) of the amplifier to the LCD. All the other three ports are working fine, and are passing the A/V signals to the TV, and can be enjoyed. At present I have plugged the HDMI cable in GAME slot with the LCD.

Is something wrong with the 1st port which has BD/DVD assigned. When I connect the HDMI between the said 1st port and the LCD TV, I just get a blue screen, with '480i' displayed on the top left side corner, which lasts for 2/3 seconds and the 480i display and blue colour goes away, and we see the black screen of LCD.

No doubt, I can use one of the three working HDMI ports but is something wrong with the said BD/DVD port, or I have missed some setting step. Please let me know, the system is under warranty, if the system is at fault I can address the issue to the dealer.

Any of our friends who use Onkyo HTIB's might throw light on the issue.

Thanks and regards

In some AVRs (like denon 1612) there is an option to disable unused HDMI and other inputs. Check whether the BD HDMI input is disabled. If not give the service guys a call.
