Optical to 3.5 converter, or a good HT..

Hello guys, new noob here..
Getting straight to the problem..., i hav LG LM6410 TV that I just bought.. TV is amazing.. But its sound is terribly low.. That why i want a good set of 5.1 "speakers" that have optical input.. Becuz, my TV only has an optical out.. Plz suggest some good 5.1 set.. Or a optical to 3.5mm converter (or something like that).. I DON'T want a blu ray player in it.. I hav one now... Thanks..

You will also find many PC speakers and monitors with a digital in.

I would recommend PC speakers in your budget, preferably Logitech. Good for TV and movies, music not so much.

HTIB is also an option, but will cost more unless you can land yourself a good deal on used equipment.

For 10-15K you need to look at htibs from samsung, philips, sony etc. But these have dvd player which is not you are looking for. Logitech Z906 is the perfect speaker system for you. It has a pair of both optical and coaxial inputs and supports DD and DTS decoding. Price should be around 17K. Another option is to get a soundbar like Boston Acoustics TV bar. The lowest model is around 17K in hifimart.com. IIRC, one FM bought F&D soundbar from junglee.com for around 11K.

What about Logitech Z506? Does it have optical input?

i suggest sterech more and get yamaha 196 at around 19k.............its a proper avr and 5 speaker and a sub.....
or if you are happy with 2 channel...really powerfull system can be had buy a int amp and 2 bookshelves from sonodyen...
if want to stick with budget..try to find panasonic,lg,sony htib with a optical input.....

@V2IBH2V: Some of the HTIB's from LG and Samsung come with the optical out. But these are all mass market HTIB's. I can tell you most Philips HTIB's come with coaxial so you would end up investing about additional 2k on signal converters and cables. You should consider checking the Philips HTS 5530 if you like boomy bass. I bought it for 13390 (MRP 16k) from Reliance Digital.

it is a very good converter i am using this but you will not get 5.1 channel because TV will not give u 5.1 channel output. i did lot of research.
