We are planning a 3D entertainment center of about 30-40 capacity mainly for children. It is not a true commercial venture, but supplements other commercial activities. We plan to run 3D films of about 30 minute duration. What is the best options for such a venture A 55-60 inch LED TV or a 3D projector? Are there enough 3D material of 30 minute duration available ? The technology will be passive 3D due to the cost of the eye wear.
The room may not be able to be made completely dark. length of the room is 10 meter.

If any other forum member has experience in running such a small 3D room, please post their experience.

There aren't any great passive 3D projectors available at the moment. So your choice boils down to a large 55" passive 3D TV. Indian11 purchased 55LM8600 for 2.2 lakhs approx. Don't forget that you will also require a 3D BDP unless you are downloading. But if you download you are taking piracy to the extreme limits - first you are downloading illegal stuff and then using it for public display (profit/non-profit does not matter).

I do not know much 30 min 3D material. But IMAX 3D BDs are available where one BD may be just over 30 mins or broken into episodes of 45 mins. But once again BDs are meant for private use and not public displays.

You have no choice but to buy professional projectors like the ones used in cinema theatres if you want passive 3d. Otherwise just stick to a 55 TV but that will be underwhelming for capacity of 30-40 and will look like a gimmick !!!

We are not planning to go for any pirated stuffs. I feel that 55 inch is too small for an audiance of 25-30. So we prefer projectors. If passive 3D projectors are not available, the proposal is likely to be droped.
the stuff in mind is the videos like born to be wild, under the sea etc from IMAX.

Here is an interesting thing. Sony has launched their 84inch 4K Passive 3D TV. The price is 17L. Maybe it will work for you !!

It really is some sort of a gimmick. But the viewer need to have some sort of memorable experience.

It is interesting. But the price is nearly twice our budget. Lets wait and see how it turns out. The 4K resolution is really interesting.
