The P42UT50D is available at shopclues @51900. Is it worth the risk at this price? Or Shall I still wait for 2013 models.

The new 2013 models have excluded the UT series. You only have S and ST to select from. ST60 will cost a lot more than UT50 and S60 is the non 3D step down version of the ST60 missing many features.

I feel UT50 is an excellent plasma set and very good price vs performance ratio unheard of on most tv's. Choice is yours.

you can go for UT...demoed it many times..a really fine tv..
check the manu warranty..if its okay..go for it..

Hi guys,

There is no certificate of dealership given to many of these online shops. Hence warranty doesnt work out as expected.

I have nothing against shopclue.com or any such online website. But the fact remains that I feel extremely discomfortable to hand over am amount of 50K to 1L to some online site. There is a lot of risk:

• What if the product is not delivered or delivered very late?
  These people often do not have the ground level infrastructure or customer support. The website often announces products at fabulous prices but stock is not available. I have read many cases when order is accepted without stock. Then customer is made to run pillar to post for refund. Sometimes delivery is delayed by as much as two months.
• What if the product is a used product?
  Self-explanatory. And that leads to ...
• What is the guarantee of replacement or refund?
  Will the online site promise replacement for used or faulty pience? If even they did, who will play for shipping back? You simply cannot ship back such a large product yourself.
• What if manufacturer guarantee is not valid?
  Note that manufacturer guarantee is honoured for the first owner only. If I buy a TV which has one year warranty and I sell it to someone in six months, the next person does not get the remianing six year warranty. The company may not recognize these online websites as genuine dealers and treat the sale as second sale.
• Websites such as Amazon or even Flipkart has built the trust. Not many others ...
  I will be OK to order small items worth no more than 5000 online. Otherwise, I feel more comfortable dealing with a face. Call me old fashioned, if you will. But I feel that for saving a few bucks, it is worth risking thousands. ???? ???? ?? ???? ? ?? ????.

if you are ready for follow ups...no price can beat online prices...excapt some particuler cases...
of course...not any fungus sites..

what is online shop??
its just a local shop selling online also....that may be your nebourhood shop as well...

they can be trusted blindly...at least your money will be refunded.if any issue arises....thats guranteed...
