I wanted to check if there are any owners here who can share some feedback on the PQ and SQ. My usage is mainly for watching BD and DVDs. I have an offer for this at 7.8K.

Would appreciate a PM if you do not want to put it out here : lowest price I could find on the net was 14.6 from a shop called Harsha( Sion, Mumbai) -he has very good prices on the V series Plasmas!

Spoke to the owner/dealer, wanted 7.2 for the player and probably will come lower! Claimed it is also possible to get Modding done for around 1.5K.but did not seem very knowledgeable.

I am using Pana DB60 amazing PQ, no issues what so ever, any specific detail you wanna know ... ???

Yes - couple of questions ...

1. How is the DVD upscaling?
2. I see that your BD60 is region-free(d). Is it for both DVDs and BD?
3. I don't really plan to rip-and-see much but how is the file format support? All mainstream formats are supported?

The only big drawback i see from a future-proofing view is that BD45 outputs only 5.1.

+1 for Sam9s.BD-60 is a far better player than the BD-45.No,the blu ray is not region free but 95% of the blu ray discs available in India are now multi region. should be available for 13k.

1. Upscaling is up to the mark, however I dont use it for DVD playback i hardly have any DVDs. So I wont bank my purchase on just that part.

2. It was not region free, I hard modded it to make it region free. And yes it is for both DVD and BDs

3. I am not sure what you mean here by file format, it does not play media files. Only BD discs ....

^^ I am not aware of BD60 a Bluray Player able to play any media file , let alone 8-10GB ones ..... :)

LG bd550 and samsung 5500 is able to play them wery well through USB.

Have you yourself seen this happening? As Sam said, most players have the FAT32 limited and their playing capacity is limited to 700-800MB AVI files. I found the same issue with Pioneer BD430 and Oppo BD 80.

Cheers

They might, yes but then again must be limited to SD Divx files. Panny BD60 however strictly is a Bluray Disk player and it excels in that department.

Yes Venkat, I've tested both with 1TB portable hard drive and yes it has got NTFS file system. I tried playing upto 11GB 1080P mkv files.
