Panasonic plasma p42U30D

Hi all,
I am Vikas Varma. I have purchased panasonic plasma p42u30d for 42k on basis of my knowledge. I kept on stydying about plasma and kept on getting knowledge from the people in the field of electronics.


If any body has got the knowledge of this plasma and can provide the reviews and some knowledge,could share. Currently have tata sky sd which is bad. I have heard that airtel and dish tv are best. I think this is a good buy for this money(42k for pana 1920x1080) and I can get the best with this amount.

Any knowledge about this tv either technical or regarding specifications or callibration is appreciated.

What other models did you compare while purchasing this model..?

Can you please share more details (with some pics if possible) when you say that sd content is bad on this TV. I am also planning to buy a pana plasma very soon...this info will surely help me.

Hi Van,
Actuallu I should not say that it is bad. It is all depend on the signals we are getting from our tata sky sd . Some of the channels are very good like sony tv. If you r wathing in cloudy timing or raining timing you not get good picture quality.

Van , what happens is when you compare normal cable with set top box you will find that normal cable provides better PQ in SD channels. because they peple have got all the necessary infrastructure like Decoders and others major equipments to provide the channel reception however in case of set top box , you only get a small box which does not have all the technicalities to provide that kind of picture quality. Otherwise in hd , dvd and bluray, this tv is stunning. You will need not to go for a aplasma costing 60k 70k or 80k. I have purchased this tv for 42k.

Do upgrade from Tata Sky SD to HD. Watching SD channels in a HD TV generally would give you much poor images than watching it in your CRT.
