PANASONIC TX-L47ET60B 47" LED or 50" PLASMA TX-P50GT50

Debating the pros and cons of a new telly, LED or Plasma, currently have a 5 yr old panasonic 42" plasma. Considering a new 47" LED 2013 model, or 2012 50" Plasma

The LED seems my fave atm, can get it for 899 with 5yr panasonic warranty and free Blu Ray Player and 2 pairs of glasses, the Plasma will set me back 799 , standard warranty, glasses extra

LED is passive, Plasma ACtive 3D, mu concern is i have a 5yr old who wont be swayed by me telling him 3D is restricted on the Plasma due to his young eyes, the LED wont, plus the glasses are peanuts on an Passive set

any advice or other options

My only suggestion is don't base your decision on 3D alone. Go for TV with better PQ. 3D will not be used a lot.

well the Plasma will be better for blu ray movies and HD sky im thinking, but does anyone else have these models or know how they compare??

I think et60 is the model that was given a 5 star on whathifi. You can read the review. Finally panny is ready to take on the giants in led segment. New kid on the block.
It seems it has improved a lot the 2013 leds upon the 2012 models. Afterall, panny knows seriously what PQ is, with their plasma experience.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
