Hi

Thanks to members for helping me.

I noticed today that we have a panasonic delaer in my city. Apparently, just opened shop a week back.

Saw the above two models. What is the major difference between the two.
Best price quoted is 30K for LE8 and 31K for LZ80.

Also, can the above play 1080p signals i.e. downscale them to 720p. Someone told me these are not HD ready and will not accept full HD signals.

Thanks again

From the website i can see only this difference.

LX80 has IPS alpha panel and LE8 doesn't???

And both are HD ready.

I found all forum members going for LE8. So, is the IPS Alpha wekaer than the panel used in LX80.

Also, does it support 1080p playback by downscaling to 720p..

Thanks

BOth are HD Ready (720p), yes they will downscale 1080p content. The LX80 probably has a slightly better panel. The LE8 has been bought by people for as low as 26k, so please keep hunting for a better price, at least get it down to 28k.

ON Panasonic website, It lists in specification page as below :

LX 800 LX 80

1125 (1080)/60p (HDMI only) Yes No
1125 (1080)/50p (HDMI only) Yes No
1125 (1080)/24p (HDMI only) Yes No
1125 (1080)/60i Yes Yes
1125 (1080)/50i Yes Yes

As both have 720p resolution, what does this mean.

I got the LE8 from Vijay Sales in Mumbai at 30k...but i am paying in installments....However smaller shops were willing to go down upto 27 k for full payment at one go.....Even Ezone was willing to offer at 28k...its a good model with total value for money...I m using it with my hathway set topbox and its awesome....
