PC to AVR

Please Advise / Guide to set up below

Brought RXv471 last week,now how connect my PC to AVR

I use M2N MX SE Asus MBD / AMD -- which give me a 5.1 output through normal jacks (Read/Green/Rose),I dn't have HDMI in system but using 1GB Graphic card(DVI)

As per my knowledge either i have to go an HDMI Sound card or an HD Graphic card -- Is this Right ?

Does SPDIF in MBD can give me 5.1 output ? , which can connected to AVR thru optical cable

Does your motherboard feature optical out? If so use it to get 5.1. Most motherboards have a SPDIF header, but you will need an adapter for it. Best option will be buy a GPU like nvidia GT520 for around 2.5K. It supports HDMI and 7.1 HD audio. It also supports 3D.

Your AV receiver has both optical and coaxial digital inputs. you can connect the spdif output from your motherboards spdif output. If it has none then you may purchase a cheap sound card with one.

OR add a graphiccard with HDMI(HD audio support).
