Guys,

Have a quick question on PCM Audio. I have an Onkyo receiver which does not have DOLBY HD and DTS HD, so it wont accept uncompressed PCM either? correct me if I am wrong...

Iam planning to get a BR player which obviously will have all these? So how do i get my receiver to output sound.

I know changing the player to Bitstream mode will help, but what difference it will make between hearing PCM or Lossless audio:rolleyes: to normal DD or DTS mode?:sos:

Thanks

with old AVR ,you have few options-

1.If AVR has 5.1 analoge input, then get BDp with 5.1 analoge out with HD-audio decoders. Now connect BDp to AVR with 5.1ana RCA cables.

2.You can connect BDp with AVR by spdf, but in BDp setting you need to output audio as DD/Dts instead HD.

3.AVR can accept 96kz PCM & perhaps may decode.

Thanks spir.

I will check and post back with questions if any (Iam sure, i will have some more.)
