Philips 32" LCD - no sound??

I have a Philips 32" LCD (32PFL5505) and am using it with a Tata Sky PVR (non HD). Suddenly I am getting no sound from the TV.

I have tried using other sources which are working fine on other TVs of the house. But they also not giving sound on this TV. Thus the problem lies with the TV set. Picture is coming fine with no issues.

Solutions tried:
1. Changing STB and trying with other TV to make sure the STB is OK.
2. Changing of AV cables.
3. Trying out different AV inputs like AV1, AV2 and Component. NOt tried HDMI.
4. Volume checked multiple times.

Any suggestions to make it work.
 
I hope no Headphone is plugged in.OR in menu setting make sure TV speakers are not turned off.

Philips has lousiest service so giving you all the best ..also --ask the people to ge ALL replacement parts to YOUR place and change.

Philips is loss making chinese company worldwide ,and In India run by Videocon .

BTW Videocon service is decent ,so hope you will get a decent service.
 
No headphone plugged in. And I tried a lot to find Speakers On/Off in the TV menu but could not. Also looked for a physical switch which someone may have pressed to off but no luck.

I hope no Headphone is plugged in.OR in menu setting make sure TV speakers are not turned off.
 
I need all the luck. Have called up customer care and lets see....(They were prompt in installation i.e. wall mounting)

Actually I ended up with Philips only because I was getting it free in loyalty points and needed it for my guest room. However, as I am awaiting my 50" plasma, this TV is currently in my Room and thus need to get it fixed ASAP.

Videocon or Philips have been prompt so far.

No response from Philips till now. Had called up customer care to report the issue on Wednesday.

Giving benefit of Dussera someone should come by tommorow.
 
Did you tried with different AV sockets(if any) in the TV which will give you some more idea,also check the STB mute is not set,some the mute symbol(yellow color in Tata sky) becomes invisible and this could be a reason.
 
I had tried with different AV sockets and also the STB for mute or low volume.

Philips customer engineer had come for a visit on Monday, when I was not at home. He spoke to me over the phone and told me there is a circuit/board issue. I told him I prefer change of TV rather than repair. Upon which he said that the entire board will be replaced with a new one and there will be no issues.

I hope he returns tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

The TV has now been repaired and all is working fine. I was out of town when the engineer came and changed the audio board. The TV is working fine.

Philips customer care is just about OK and though they solved the issue it took more than 2 weeks for the same and about 3 visits. I had spare TV so it was fine but it would be very irritating if was the main TV of the house.

What were the total charges?
 
NO CHARGES as the TV was under warranty. I had redeemed the TV against some loyalty points and it gave this problem after just 2 months of usage.

I do not know if the engineer relied on the serial number to confirm warranty or my registration date. I was out of town and hence he could not have seen any papers.
