Philips HTS6553 or HTS6543... which one to go for...?

I am getting HTS6543 at Rs. 11k and HTS6553 at 12k ... from philips employee sale from one of my relatives... please suggest which one to go for.... also tell me am i getting a good bargain? ... or should i see other companies... thanx in advance...

increase yiour budget a little and go for entry level htibs from onkyo and yamaha or denon pioneer....
or simply buy pc speakjers from creative or intex much cheaper better solution

In this forum no one will guide you to go for Home theater products from Philips, Sony etc. So listen yourself and if you are satisfied then go for it. You will not get this product at this price. I would have gone for HTS6553 just because it has digital coaxial in and optical in

Please stretch your budget and get a proper HT system like Onkyo HT-S3500 or Denon 1312XP and leave Philips, Sony, Lg, etc...........out of this forum.

+1. Get an avr based htib like Onkyo 3500, Denon 1312xp etc. If you still want the Philips then get the one with optical or coaxial input. I think a Philips blu-ray home theater is available ariund that budget.

Actually i dont have much budget than this.... right now i am going for HTS6553... will cost me around INR 12.5k.... and i dont think there is any value device for this much money. also notice original cost of HTS6553 is INR 23k-24k.

Both looks and quality as speakers will be placed in my living room with my 51' HD TV so dont want old style HTS... HTS6553 has 4 X 1.1 m long tallboy speakers

how can you even compare onkyo to philips irrespective of speakers, design, etc!!! Philips might be making some great tv's but it can't and I dont think ever will get into the hifi segment.........that is for the big boys like Onkyo, Denon, etc..........

I am not comparing them. i m just saying i dont have 25k-30k budget to get onkyo 3500 n all. just understand the point , i was asking if its a good deal to get this device for 12k (which is originally priced 24k) . tallboy speakers is secondary preference(not so important).

Ordered HTS6553 thanx everyone.... and PS its a new segment out in august cant really criticize it so early by saying others are much better. I will tell my views once it arrives.
