Philips HTS9520 @ 32500, MRP 70k

Well I am just deciding on HT system and was checking on flipkart and saw this piece.

Curious why the costliest model is going so cheap? I know it might be outdated but still it shouldn't be bad since it is their best model?

Looking for some opinions about this.

Even at Rs.32500 it is not a good system. Get a Onkyo HT-S3400/HT-S3500 for not more than Rs.27500 and spend the balance money in buying a blu-ray player. This will be much better(atleast in terms of features) than this philips HTiB.

That is a nice comment.

Many of the experienced forum members are not actively participating these days. So someone has to answer.

Unfortunately many thread in the forum contain recommendations without actually experiencing it. May be a recommendation by gut feeling.

May be time to add a disclaimer on "Forum liability"

with due respect Mr admin i want to say
no i have never heard this specific system
but the following point (alone) justifies to nullyfy this model

NO HDMI inputs

no need to check other points at this price point where a low end avr 22k and a pair of decent bs 10k can be managed.

Very valid point. Post 2008 or so, HT without HDMI is just waste of money, IMO :indifferent14:
