I need a player to attach to my sony led & logitech z906.

i will play dvd but also
want to play xvid,mkv,mp4 with downloaded subtitles. would be great if it can upscale sd content to hd.

besides 5.1 digital audio, subtitle, HDMI & optical out is must.

i have choosen these two.

Philips BDP2600/94 Blu Ray Player
i am considering it as, it is a BD, supports upscale and plays mkv. but dont know if it displays subtitle. and i am not sure about its quality . it is phillips.

SONY DVP-SR700HP
it got upscaling. doesnt play hd files and mkv. doesnt sure about subtitle. but sony, i think, is trustworthy.

philips one is alluring as it is 5k and it will add Blueray playing possibility for me.

pls pls someone kindly guide me.

My suggestion - buy a good HD media player like asus oplay mini, himedia hd600, kaiboer etc. They will play almost all type of audio and video files. Buy a BDP only if you want to watch blu-ray disks.

Ok..no, i dont have concrete plan for buying BDisc while they costs so much.

asus oplay mini plays HD 1080p files ? with 5.1 sound ? and upscales sc content ?
I want to know, should i consider Asus O!Play HD2 ? or sony s 380.
