Hello... I have finalized on getting a Pioneer 5.1 system with FS fronts. I auditioned the famed Andrew Jones set and Pioneer htp 823 MKII. Obviously I felt the AJ speakers to be on a better side but not too much ahead of the 823 MKII. I had a couple of questions to ask my friends...
1. There is a cost difference of about 12 k between these 2...which one should I consider..
2. There's a receiver choice of Pioneer vsx 823 or vsx 523...the former being a networked receiver... So either the AJ speakers with lower avr or the 823 MKII speakers with the higher 823 network avr....which one should I go for.

My viewing would be mostly movies and then little of music... But I have decided to go for floorstanders after a lot of auditions..

Thanks
Deepak

Go for floor standers, but also audition some more brands like Sonodyne, Wharfadales, Polk audio etc. for floor standers, they are in almost similar range.

Thanks Premblr... The issue is wharfedale and polk 5.1 options with floorstanders works out to be costly... I also need to factor in an avr to buy.

Kartick... My budget is around 60k... I'm looking at 5.1 movie package only.. But with fronts as floorstanders. I auditioned yamaha 299 and onkyo 4505.. Didn't like them.

AJ (andrew jones) out be a designer series range and his models are well known in market, thats why there is price difference. both models offers a decent sound especially the 'bass' its punchy not boomy. i suggest consider AJ speaker package with 823 avr if you can extend your budget. On other hand you can also audition AJ speakers with lower avr and 382 mkII speakers with 823avr and choose the best

i do have a a AJ package with a denon x1000 package and can assure you its a better package than the 823mkII

Hi
I am looking for same deal. Can u share me the cost of the package AJ 523 and denon are good fit? or yamaha avr is also ok.?
Had u also auditioned boston acoustics A2310HTS at now 38900 INR is it worth tobuy or denon HTS is also good.

Please let me know.
not looking at FS.
Regards

I have Aj 5.1 with 523 connected to laptop which is connected to wifi.Using Android app Unified App,I can control the laptop(music, movies etc) so it is networked for me.

Sound wise at this price range I think nothing beats Aj for the quality. This review closed it for me.
