Hello all,

i am getting the Pioneer Todoroki for rs. 32000.

is that a good buy or should i go for Jamo S 408 HCS 1 with sub 200 for rs. 28000 (no avr)

pls suggest what to buy.... buying to pair with my Yamaha Rx 671 so that i can free my wharfs (9.5 & 9.1) and use them in a stereo setup. pairing the wharfs with my sansui 517, cosmic turn table & sansui tuner.

i have no specified budget.
actually i was in two minds:
1. buy a sub & centre for my existing HT & then buy another bookshelf for my stereo
2. buy a ht speaker set and use the wharfs for my stereo.

Option 1 looks very feasible.

You can buy a Wharf centre to timbre-match with the existing 9.5s, and a Wharf sub.

Yes, for the stereo, look for a new pair. Since you have the Sansui to pair with, try procuring something different as speakers. Your Sansui has a warm signature with sufficient power, so, can recommend any slightly bright speakers with it.

earlier i had paired sansui 717 with wharf 9.5 and it was lovely.

so was thinking that i would re-pair the same. more into music than movies so i was thinking of taking the Jamo package and using it.

i feel wharfs and sansui match perfect, thats my personal thought.

Great, then buy a pair of 9.1s or 9.2s (as fronts), a Wharf centre and any suitable sub for the 5.1 HT. Set aside the 9.5s with the Sansui 517. BTW, the Sansui '17' and '19' series (all of late 70s and early 80s era) are about the BEST integrated budget amps EVER made.

yeah got lucky to get hold of another 517 after having stupidly sold my 717.

its actually not a bad deal to just buy 9.1/2 but i would use it with my stereo as my stereo room is much smaller and my HT is room is huge.

any ideas about the rates or offers on :

wharfs
9.1/2
centres and
subs

Check hifimart in here ....
Can suggest:

Wharf 10.1/10.2 for stereo. Looks like, the 9 series has been discontinued.
Matching with your 9.5s, you may settle for 9 CC as centre (9.9k) and Sonodyne Roarr 210 as sub (19.45k).

hey buddy... got that but thats not an entire set... it again leaves me with the same thing of not having a sub or surround. and i dont know how they would match with my wharfs & yamaha avr

even if i pick yours, i shall still fall short of a sub.
