Hi all,
Im planning to get an avr as step of setting up my home theater, the two avr's that im considering is the vsx523k and x1000. My max budget is 35k, so no Marantz  , yes i know that the x1000 is a network enabled receiver. I request you guys to comment on the performance of both, MACC vs Audyssey MultEQ XT,Audyssey DynamicEQ and the 80 watts at 8ohms vs the 125 watts @6 ohms which should come around 70-75 watts @8 ohms, and an important thing the denon has a compressed audio restorer function is it available in pioneer as well? and once when i plugged in my usb to a pioneer vsx 823k it said no usb device  , so is there a special type of usb that i need to use?, will the denon have the same issue and there is a price difference of 10k, so my question is denon worth the 10k extra that i have to pay?
Kindly chip in with your valuable suggestions

Kind Regards,
Sujith

In terms of service availability, I will go with Pioneer. They have service center in Kochi where as with Denon you have to ship it to Chennai or Banglore. I had bad experience with Denon AVR 1612 which I serviced 4-5 times by shipping it to Chennai and spent almost 20K. It ultimately died a few weeks back. A service technician who worked in Dubai Denon told me that this particular model has severe quality issues. The new gen Denon AVRs may not have any issues, but I will never buy a Denon.

Denon for movies and flac playback. Pioneer 823-k for all rounder

I've got the Pionner VSX 523k, and am pretty satisfied with it. It's powerful enough, got plenty of features, and doesn't colour the sound.
There is a compressed audio restorer in the Pioneer, and it does a fairly decent job.
I've had no problems with USB sticks, but it doesn't recognise my Android phone.
A few shortcomings that I noticed are:
1)It doesn't display the AVR menu via HDMi, it's only through component.
2)It doesn't have an option to save your listening modes(atleast none that I've been able to find). So if you've got different preferences for music and movies, you'll have to reconfigure them each time. It's easy to do, but if I could just move back and forth with a click it would have been really nice.
3)It doesn't play back flac files via USB.
4)You can't manually configure the equaliser. It's got lots of pre-sets and the most you can do is choose between them.

The only short coming I felt in the AVR x1000 is that music was satisfying especially the violin kinda of sounds
