Plan to purchase HT

I was researching about home theater, I also got a chance to look the Yamaha AV 3065. I listened the movie and song from mobile phone with two sets of Yamaha speakers.
The one was tower speaker set and other was book shelf set and I was not impressed with the sound quality and same with the JBL Home theater set.

The reason behind comparing above mentioned home theater system is that I have 2.1 multimedia from Altec Lansing and I am still impressed with the quality of sound that I am getting and the even the Yamaha and JBL sound system are not close to Altec lancing

I am writing you to suggest me a set of home theater system which I could purchase for home for budge around 30K.

You have 2 options :

1. HTIB : Onkyo HT-S3500 / Denon 1312XP (best value for money)
2. Seperates : AVR + 2 good bookshelf speakers and build a 5.1 system speaker by speaker in time. You can go for the fronts now, then later get the centre, subwoofer and lastly surrounds. This is a longer route but will give you a much better system.

The size of HT system depends on your room volume.......if your room is small to medium you can go for HTIB from Denon / Onkyo...they are good.......or else go for seperates for large rooms with high power amps and floor standing speakers.....the brands are endless.....for 30K go for onkyo.....

Thanks all for suggestion, the reason behind getting views here because,i want to insist on good speaker (even bookshelf will work and don't care about tower as i don't want to go for theater kind of high volume), i auditioned JBL and Bose, in Bose home theater (approx 1.28 L) the sound is crisp and clear even at lower volume and the same is not with the JBL, Yamaha (both tower and bookshelf) and even these speakers are not even close to 2.1 Altec lancing multimedia speaker, so if you can suggest something in speaker that would be wonderful

and can i ask what is AVR ?
one more thing, do i need to purchase separate speakers for movie and music
