Please advice on buying a 40+ inch 3D tv

Hi friends, please suggest me on buying a 40 inch and above 3D tv. Girias kalyanagar has quoted me 62k +2 active glasses for Panasonic 42ST30D. Is it a good price am getting? is there any huge difference in power consumtion of plasma tv's compared to lcd/led tv's??

Plasma's are better than LED/LCD, moreso for 3D content........so rest assured ST30 is one of the best plasma tv's in the market!!!

Better buy 51E550 for another 5-6k extra. Its a lot bigger and also more vfm

demo both the tv's and then decide.......I would still put my money on Panasonic, you have to see how beautiful the neop pdp panels look.

Panasonic 50 series no doubt would be better but would also cost more..........do we know when will they launch in India? The pan VT50 is being proclaimed as the best tv for 2012 sweeping all the awards with great reviews. So, definitely the 50 would be a better choice than the 30 series ONLY if budget is not a constraint.

Nevertheless the ST30 is one of the best 3D tv's in the market today, and if your bargaining skills are good you might end up with a really good deal.

Go for a Plasma or LCD/LED TV without 3D. Home 3D is just a hype from my personal view.
If plasma then Panasonic is the leader. LCD/LED Samsung and sony/LG are good.

Initially i had 3d led in my mind and after knowing about plasma tv's i have decided to buy P42ST30D. Please let me know about the difference in monthly power bill if i use the tv for 8 hours per day!!

Thanks, but my tv viewing distance is only 7.5 to 9ft. So i believe 42" would suit better for my living room.

Have you considered Samsung PS43E490, it is well within your budget and should be available from May on wards. I am also looking to demo this.

going to be very hard for Samsung to come up with something not only to equal but to beat the ST30 at the same price. Samsung also makes good plasma's but they cant beat the Panasonic neo pdp panels with infinitel black pro which gets better with the 50 series.

I bought it for 62k with 2 glasses. But girias people cheated by giving me a TV which is used for a period of 250 hr and 150 counts and above all a" airtel logo burn-in":sad:. So when i raised an issue with panasonic customer care they giving me the reason "no stock" and asking me to take the refund from the dealer as it is his fault to supply me a demo piece with logo burn-in. From this i have learnt not to trust on panasonic products and never ever use their brand any more and also not to recommend any of their products to anyone.

so sorry to hear about this.............I face a similiar problem with lg. Please take it up strongly with the company. They have to replace the tv, tell them you will publish it in the papers, etc.........make a BIG noise. Unfortunately nothing works until you make some noise. Isn't there another dealer?

Please do not doubt Panasonic products, their plasma's are first class. This has been an unfortunate incident, try to get it sorted.
