Hi Friends,

Happy to be sharing my views on excellent 5.1 product, "Violet 3D" (wireless speakers) an Indian brand.

Guys, it is surprising that there has been not much said about the violet 3D wireless speakers in the forums or may be I did not look hard enough, do point me to the direction if you find any.

Anyway, I took a home demo of wireless 5.1 speaker system and it was awesome! the sound was absolutely immersing and spread nicely in the room. Even if you move in the room it would not disrupt the theater effect unlike other setups where it varies from area to area in the room. Speakers are wireless, you just need to connect them to any power source like a light bulb socket or a electric plug. There is an antena that calibrates the room dimensions and feeds it to the small receiver which then knows where your speakers are and then creates the theater effect. I was very very impressed by the design and sound of the system, however at 65K it did seem expensive for an indian brand. I was not convinced by the music playing credentials of the system, therefore I did not order it, I will however look at other stereo setups and if they sound the same or slightly better I will go with Violet 3D.

Guys please share your experiences if any with the Violet 3D speakers, so I can make an informed choice.
And for those who haven't had a listen, please give it a try coz it is something great invented by an Indian Guy.

Cheers,
Aryan

why must not an Indian brand command a good price ?

most foreign brands are assembled in an alien land called China anyway. The Chinese manufacture in bulk and you pay $$ prices for the chinese made product. The revenues ( part of ) go to China.

I would rather the revenue go to an Indian company than a chinese one.

As i understand it - the Violet is a Home Theater product and most of the HT products may not be satisfying for music to all ears anyway.

This is not to derail the thread but to derail the implied thinking that Indian brands cannot command a price.

Happy hunting..choose well.. preferably Indian or not made in China.

Its very interesting life style product that focuses on convenience and aesthetics. Its excellent for the objective it serves but not for everyone or hard core movie buffs. I hear they have made a lot of changes now and added HDMI which should overcome one of the main drawback we found when we reviewed.

Had the chance to review the Violet 3D HD today. The second version where you can connect it through HDMI for player/pc.

Music quality : Not so great especially in the middle you may suddenly hear some muffled voice. I guess the speaker design has a diffuser in the middle i think it make be the culprit. Heard hotel California doesn't work well for me in the treble section.

Movie quality : Audio especially Dolby digital was good. But no feature to bit-stream DTS to it a big turn down for me. Highly doubt whether Dolby TrueHD or DTS-MA will be supported. But PCM was heard with great enthusiasm and the sound lived in the hall but nothing is great in the higher frequency, you will miss the transformers rubble sound.

Major errors:
  • When connected to laptop through HDMI, it was not detected as a 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel supported transmitter.
  • Not too many input connections, in-fact only one HDMI option, 1 RCA and 1 Component
  • For the same price many other AVRS just rock features

Major Advantages:
  • Truly wireless can place it anywhere near a power outlet
  • Sounds muffled in high quality treble noises but copes up in being called as an omnidirectional method

Can anybody suggest an alternative to Violet system ...... In a similar or lesser price range?

Game aster mentioned that there are many companies in a similar price range ...... Could you name a few please ?

Thanks in advance,

Karan
