Please suggest a 55' TV

Hi folks,

I have been lurking around the forums for the last couple weeks, because I have been contemplating buying a new TV, let me say you guys have a great forum and gained a lot of insights from the forum.

I currently have a couple Samsung 26' LCDs in the rooms and a 32' Sony LCD in the hall.

This 55' will replace the 32' Sony LCD. I would like to buy this from Bangkok, my family is there, and after reading reviews and threads on this forum, I was extremely tempted by the ST55, but its lack of availability has put me off, also the hall may decent ambient lighting, and reading about the care one needs to take for a plasma, decided against it.

This TV will be used for your soaps for family, personally for football matches, and HD movies. My budget is 1 lakh INR

Keeping all the above in mind, I decided to go in for a LED.

These are the TVs that I got quotes for, please help me decide which one to get, I was hoping for the

Samsung ES7100 es6030 es6220, ES6030
HX850 is almost double the cost of the above mentioned Samsung models

Is there any 2013 model to consider?

I am leaning towards the ES7100, dont mind going for the HX850 is its absolutely worth it, but just feel it will push the costs and will definitely fall in the eyes of the customs.

Please help me decide. Thanks in advance.

You can get Sony 55 EX720 for around 1.1 lac. I own that TV and its awesome.

Least picture noise for hd/sd.

you will get plasma 50 inchers at much less price and better picture..however read plasma vs led...
howver my peronsl aopinion..use your present tvs for reguler use..
get a projector..dont buy tv..for special screening...and enjoy like cinema hall..

carrying that from bangkok will be very easy also..

yes sir, got the HX750, planning to buy a projector next to enjoy football matches and movies.

I will vote for HX750. The cost of the same will be much less around 75k in Bangkok. It is available for 1.25 lacs officially in Mumbai with Sony warranty. Samy is good option if you like very bright colours and also if you can get it quite cheap. But finally your own choice matters.

Better wait for the 2013 models, which is expected within a month or so.
