models in my mind are samsung 32c550, lg 32ld460,550,650

Hello,

with your requirements, you have shortlisted the right models, would like to add the samsung C530 also the list...

My requirements were similar and i chose the LG LD550...

you can check my thread for the same..

http://www.hifivision.com/television/13961-bought-lg-ld550.html

what i noticed is that LG's PQ is actually better when you compare the Samsung C530 with the LG LD460 & LD550...and LG is actually cheaper also..

I'm slightly biased with LG as have bought my AC,DD Fridge, Micro Oven from LG only and their A.S.S. is the best in India...

LD 460 & C530 have almost the same specs with LG having better USB playing capability and plays MKV also while Samsung doesnt...both are 50mHz motion...both are Full HD models..LD 460 has 300W PMPO speakers..

IN India, on a 32" idont think you'll notice the difference between a HD ready & a Full HD TV... but u should always go for the latest technology as the price difference isnt much...

LD 550 has 100 MHZ trumotion technology.. this difference you notice when you watch wildlife channels, sports channels, and news channels where the ticker is rolling at the bottom of the screen... the numbers and text seem to fly off the ticker on TVs having less than 100Hz motion.. this is something which i have compared side by side..

Also the LG panels will seem to be less bright than the Samsung & Sony ones as they use IPS panels...but IMHO it doesnt affect the viewing experience at all..in fact the picture seems a lot better on the eyes for LG...

There's really very little to choose between the 2 Korean companies..but samsung C550 which has 100Hz motion is atleast costlier to the LD 550 by 3-5k which is not worth it...IMHO...

Samsung C550 has better sound though as per their specs... nothing what a basic HT cant take care of with the money saved on the LG..

If your budget can be stretched to 40K, try for a LG LED TV also...it seems that the prices have come down to 40K forthe entry level model as per a report in ET this week..

hey ranjit thnks for your suggestions.............. but what about the cable reception on the lg lcd's?
i think the price in ezone for lg 550 was around 37k without exchange so u getting it for 32.5k is pretty good.....

While the LG is good I would suggest the Samsung 32C630 for 35-37K. Try contacting Satyam at Bandra(W), near Lucky hotel. Speak to Amit for both LG and Samsung.

LG 32LD550 should not cost you more than 33-34K.

shaiju yaar bandra possible nahi hoga mujhe, newhere in chembur or vashi ghatkopar will do.

Koi bhi dealer ke paas jao near your place. That's fine - just ensure you don't pay a premium.

I saw the Samsung C530 and did not like it a bit.

i will be probably buying the ld550...any comments before i buy????

Please check usage hours when the piece is delivered this is to ensure that you don't end up with a display or a demo piece. Also check for backlight bleeding issues.Check the other threads on this site before you book the TV.

For LG TV preses menu and then the red button. Then go to the settings option. there you will see the usage hours and the serial number and so on.

Hey Mandar, do u own a LG lcd???
if yes, how did u find it? any problems with the panel, sound, PQ etc?

I went through some forums but could not figure out what is blacklight bleeding, how could i identify it?

dude please check here.. the samsung plays mkv too, also it plays every format available even the dts hd audio which the lg does not play.

but slayer in samsung we cannot be sure of the panel which we will get, then on delivery if we get the inferior panel then what is the use of buying it, so me thinking for opting for lg.

Wat say?

Yeah i bought a 32LD650 on dusherra. The day i got it i noticed the black-light bleed issue and got the piece replaced with another one.

Apart from that i am happy with my TV. I am playing SD content and i am pretty happy with the PQ and sound.

Please check this thread for Back light bleed issue

Yeah that is correct. You will only be able to see that on black or very dark background. People say that bleed happens due to loose fitting of the panel and the screen.

If the light is controllable in the room where you place the TV, why don't you have a look at the 42 Plasmas?.. extra 10 inches will be worth the trade at your viewing distance as HD/FHD would not matter for 42 inches at 8 feet.

It will be bit out of budget i believe

Some prices,

Panasonic-VIERA TH-P42X20D Rs 33,999/-
LG-42PJ350R - Rs 34,980/-
LG-42PJ650R - Rs 38,000/-
Samsung-PS42C450 - Rs 39,500/-

these are the best price for the model though the MRP will be on a higher side.
