Hi, Let me first congratulate you for buying a plasma over LED/LCD, perfect choice!!! Now let me just clarify some details on panasonic plasmas. Panasonic runs the following series in Plasma:
2010 line up : VT20,V20,S20,G20,U20,X30
2011 line up : VT30, ST30, GT30, UT30, U30, X30
Neo pdp : Based on several breakthrough innovations, VIERA NeoPDP takes flat screen TV to the next level. VIERA NeoPDP TVs has an ultra-high dynamic contrast ratio of over 2,000,000:1 thanks to a newly developed discharge gas. This translates into deep, true black tones and brighter whites for more vibrant and lifelike pictures with every film or TV programme. To ensure that sporting events, action films and gaming picture quality is smooth and without judder, VIERA NeoPDP employs 600Hz Sub-field Drive with Intelligent Frame Creation Pro. Based on 600Hz technology, the internal processor creates 600 Sub-fields, afterwards an intelligent algorithm selects the best ones to optimise the flow of motion on the screen.
As you can see, its only makes sense to buy a panasonic plasma with neo pdp panel. This is why panasonic is the king of plasma tv's. No doubt they make the best plasma's, provided it has neop pdp on it. Unfortunately not all models do. The following models support neo pdp:
2010 : VT,V,S,G
2011 : VT,ST,GT
U and X series do not, so I would seriously advise you to stretch you budget for V20 which was and still is one of the best, if not the best 2D tv's in the market. It was also rated as the best tv for 2010. However, should you still want an entry level tv, then you can look at Samsung plasmas. They do better entry level tv's than pan U/X series.
But, please try your best to get the V20, even though a bit expensive, it is worth every penny, you will not regret it!!!
