hello Dear all PC/HTPC guru's

PLz help!

My PC configuration is

1) i3-2100, 3.10 Ghz CPU HD2000 intergated graphics
2) Intel DH67BL motherboard
3) With a cooler master 350W power supply
4) Lg bluray drive

Whenever i try to run a video editing software i get the following message

"Your video card does not support the minimum requierments for this application

OpenGL version must me 2.0 or higher.
OpenGLSL version must be 1.2 or higher.
The monitor must be running in True Color (32-bit)."

Plz help, what does this means?

Do i need a graphic card?

if yes, then please suggest a compatible graphic card for my above configuration. Is my power supply enough to support a new grahic card?

Thanks in advance

^ what software are you using?
Go to its website, see minimum hardware requirement. They would also generally specify recommended hardware. See if your hardware meets the requirement.

Which OS are you using?

I think the problem is that with your graphics driver, Just update the driver from the intel site using the followign URL. Also update to the latest version of DirectX.

Graphics — OpenGL* compatibility

Download: DirectX End-User Runtime - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Thanks guys

Software i'm trying to use is Hitfilm demo.

I have windows 7 - 32 bit installed on computer.

As per your recommendation i went to Hitfilm website but there are a lot of grahic card options, but i want to know which one will be compatible with my CPU i3 + Intel DH67BL motherboard. Is my 350W enough for the grahic card that you will recommend?

There seems to be no info about one's computer power supply requirements.

Thanks in advance

The i3 2100 has an On-Die gpu Intel HD2000. It won't suffice to run HitFilm. At the very least they need a HD3000 which is available on i321x5 and above (all i5s and i7s). However the on-die wont be able to provide the GPU Acceleration or GPGPU processing demanded by HitFilm.

So ideally, you are better off a newer GPU from AMD ATI/nVidia. The Intel DH67BL has a PCI 2.0 x16 slot. That means you'd be able to run almost any GPU out there in the market.

You may have to get rid of the Cooler Master if you intend to put any decent GPU ion there.

It'd be great if you could mention the amount you are intending to spend. Irrespective I'll go ahead with some recommendations so as not to bottleneck the i3 2100.

^^I'll second ruenigma's suggestions.

You can consider getting MSi HD 6670 1GB DDR5 @ 5200/- and look at FSP 450 watts/Corsair CX430 as well if you're on a budget OR else go with Seasonic 520 watts and HD 6770 [this combo is good for entry level gaming as well]
