Hi All,

how is the poineer HTP-RS42 modal ?is poinner AVRs good like yamaha, denon and marantz ?pls give me your valuable suggestions.

I have the Pioneer RS42 speakers, but chose the VSX-522K AVR for its USB port and MCACC auto-calibration.
I use it mainly for music and sometimes for movies (70:30).
I auditioned the Pioneer speakers along with HT systems from Onkyo & Yamaha.
But preferred the Pioneer as I felt their 12" sub-woofer beat the rest (distortion at high volumes) at that price.
Yes I do prefer bass. :)

Pioneer is also a reputed brand when it comes to AVR and home theater systems. Take a demo of RS42 and decide yourself.

Just saw their web site link and looking forward for the reviews.
Planning for a demo soon.
These are real contenders for those satellite packages offerings from Yam/Denon/Onkyo.

today i went for HTP-RS42 speaker demo but AVR is denon 1312,i feel sound is not good and no clarity. is it may be problem of AVR?that dealer dont have poineer AVR.

Are these the Andrew Jones designed speakers sold in India? My friend is getting a pair of BS22 speakers for me this weekend that I bought from Tigerdirect for 100 dollars.

Or as usual is it pioneer selling substandard speakers that they dont dare sell in US?

sorry I did not understand you. :)

Pioneer have released a new line of speakers designed by Andrew Jones who I believe is a big shot in the audio world. I am no audiophile and CNET gave them their highest rating last year - better than the Energy Take Classic.

Last year it was the X1 series - their first range - 21 for bookshelf, 41 for bigger bookshelves and 51 for floor standers.

This year - it is the X2 series although they have not launched 42. CNET already have given them their best rating this year as well.

Not sure if this range they sell in India is same as the one sold in US. Since they retail for 630 dollars in US - 49K in India is a fair price.

What Suresh is mentioning is a complete HT package including AVR, Pioneer has recently only launched these models which are actually VFM according to their specs. Before their Indian operations were not active, atleast home audio. I think their Indian website is also launched along with this only. See the below link.

The speakers Arun is mentioning should be good ones considering their previous models were great as per below user experience in HFV.
They're just speaker packages and do not include AVR.

The review done by Maverick are the speakers that I mentioned - the Andrew Jones ones - I guess they are not legally launched in India and some dealers are importing it and selling it.

The ones on the official Pioneer website seems to be different and that is the question I had asked in my first reply to the current thread. - why should pioneer launch a different range in India when they already have a world beating product in US?

I do understand that the Indian package includes an AVR - but just wondering why they dont launch a product that is popular abroad here as well. my two paisa

The speakers owned by Maverick were out of stock when I checked in Pioneer US website sometime ago, though available now. They're much in demand it seems.

Your question is right, may be they'll bring those later to India.
If you see Indian website, you can see they've not listed any speaker packages. Lets wait n see!

Yeah. now that Pioneer has launched the 2012 version which I heard has been redesigned from last year - I think a price of around 45K without AVR is a decent one given its around 650 there

HTP-RS42 is now 45k MRP.

Whats the market price ?

Im looking for some reviews, as I have to order one. Let me know guys.

At Best Buy, you can get the Sp-52pk cheaply.
SP-52 Floorstanders are being sold at $99 each, So $200 for a pair.
Add a $100 for a center and another $100 for 22BS bookshelves.
For $400 you get a great system.

SP-52 looks much better than SP-51.
SP-51 are not the best looking speakers.

Center by the way is too big, and still will not fit smaller TV stands.
Sub is a weak point, sold at $75 sometimes.

The floor standers are the best part of this system.
Nothing from entry level Polks and Klipschs can even touch it.
SP-52 even sounds better than Martin Logan Motion.

Now only if there was a better center designed for this. this would have been a no-brainer.
