The polarized glasses given with the LG Cinema 3D TVs look nice, pretty similar to the Wayfarer design in trend these days. But are they actually effective?

What do you mean by "effective"? They are given with a specific purpose - to watch 3D. They do their job.

Perhaps they may work in cinema hall also. Anyone tried this?

Of course they are, and if I am being honest then the 3D experience through them is much better than the conventional active 3D glasses. The FPR-type 3D in this series ensures realistic 3D viewing without any strain to your eyes.

Not Wayfarer - the passive 3D glasses of LG 3D TV actually resemble the Aviator design of sunglasses. And yes, they work as advertised!
